Bones From The Yard
Upon listening to the new Dennis Dunaway Project CD, Bones From The Yard, you will probably say to yourself, why has Dennis Dunaway waited so long to realise his first solo album? Only the legendary bassist of the Alice Cooper Band knows the answer to that! But when you discover his new music, you will be addicted…
The first quality of Bones From The Yard is that Dennis Dunaway avoided falling into the nostalgic trap of attempting to re-create the classic Alice Cooper style. Of course, we have some reference on this album, intentional or not, but it will go unnoticed by many people. In other words, Bones From The Yard is fresh from the first song to the last! I predict the CD will be a success, eventhough it hasn’t been the subject of intense media. Why ? Because, you will like it and you will talk about it to your friends ! That’s the best kind of hype.
The second quality about Bones From The Yard is the musicians. Dennis Dunaway found the right people for this band. You don’t get a backup band but a real band with chemistry between the bass and the guitar (Rick Tedesco), the keyboard (Ed Burns), and the drums (Russ Wilson). The lead vocal duties are shared by Ed, Rick, and Dennis. The maestro gave plenty of musical freedom to the boys. For example, listen to the experimental song « On The Mountain » and the two potential hits, «Kandahar » and « New Generation ».
Listening to Bones From The Yard makes you feel like you’re riding in a roller coaster. This album is totally energetic and pure emotion.
This is my favorite classic rock discovery for 2006. Buy it, relax, and enjoy the return of the Black JuJu man !
Happy listening,
